Relocating abroad? That’s daunting stuff. For sure. But if you’ve got your apprehensive eyes set on Copenhagen, we’ve got some exciting news – and it’s likely to ease your anxiety at least a little.
What is it, you ask? Well, it’s a quality of life guarantee! Representatives of the Greater Copenhagen Region have announced a campaign for ‘life quality insurance’ that newcomers can enrol on, and the aim is to literally guarantee your happiness after you make the move.
The fact is that Eastern Denmark and Southern Sweden routinely top quality of life surveys such as the World Happiness Report, which is largely thanks to its work-life balance and friendly, trusting vibe – so it’s no wonder the place is so sure of itself.
‘We’re so confident that people will fall in love with life in GCR that we are willing to walk the walk,’ says Asbjørn Overgaard, a spokesperson. ‘If you move here and if that – against all odds – it isn’t for you, we’ll help you get back home.’
So, how do you get involved? Well, all you need to do is sign up before you move, relocate and settle in and turn your hand to the city’s offerings. If you’re not happy, your transfer home will be covered – you can read more on the website here.
