The biopic will also feature huge names when it comes to direction and scriptwriting.
Cher's "DEAR FRIEND" and Oscar-winner Eric Roth will be writing it. He's known for writing Forrest Gump, A Star Is Born, Dune, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, and others.
The producers have been confirmed too, it's the Mamma Mia! producers Judy Craymer and Gary Goetzman. Where do they link in with Cher? For three points... Yes, that's it! Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, which Cher starred in.
Cher is perfect to play the young Cher in her biopic, but who will play the older Cher?
— michael musto (@mikeymusto) May 20, 2021
Naturally, fans are speculating who might play Cher in the film. Many are suggesting Cher could play all of the Chers. Chers? Cheri? Whatever the plural is. She probably could do that.
Others have mentioned the likes of Lady Gaga and Gal Gadot. We'd bet against Madonna though.
Most of the other details are currently under wraps at the moment, including the cast, the name, and a release date. Anticipation is high though.
In a relative golden age of biopics (by frequency if not quality) this looks like it could be one of the better ones. Other upcoming biopic figures include Bob Dylan, and Elvis Presley.
In other music news, Primavera Sound have announced a stellar line up for 2022
