Spring has sprung, and in keeping with the season of renewal, April sees the return of several Netflix favorites. That includes a fresh batch of technological nightmares from Black Mirror, the final season of serial killer thriller You and the David Letterman chat show My Next Guest Needs No Introduction. Elsewhere, you’ll also find DJs turned undercover spies, real-life gangsters discussing their misdeeds, nurses in love and Tom Hardy punching and shooting his way through a bunch of low-lives. Here’s what we’re most looking forward to, followed by a list of everything brand-new coming to Netflix in April.

Gentlemen, start your air horns! In this comedic French thriller, an aging DJ is recruited by the police to take down a rising young rival with suspected criminal ties. Honestly, Andy Samberg would kill this premise, but don’t sleep on the great Vincent Cassel (La Haine), who appears to be having a ball playing the washed-up hero who doesn’t know he’s washed up.

You can’t be a facsimile of a television network without a medical drama, and Netflix finally has one of its own. Strange Darling’s Willa Fitzgerald is a talented third-year resident at a Miami hospital involved in a steamy affair with her superior. How is that functionally different from Grey’s Anatomy? Well, uh, looks like there’s a hurricane in season 1. They don’t have those in Seattle, do they?

Charlie Brooker’s technophobic anthology series returns with six episodes, including two feature-length instalments and a sequel to fourth-season fan favourite ‘USS Callister’. Wonder if one will be about a billionaire oligarch acting as shadow president. Or is that too far-fetched?

The Diamond Heist

Guy Ritchie produced this three-part docuseries about a brazen crime that sounds a lot like the plot to a Guy Ritchie movie. Without giving too much away, it involved a precious gem, a bulldozer and a speedboat. Both the criminals and the cops offer their sides of a wild story.

Minka Kelly and Josh Duhamel find love on the range in this series that looks like Yellowstone for wine moms. She’s a concert pianist newly returned to her hometown in rural Texas after a stint in New York. He’s a rancher with a tragic past. Can romance blossom against the backdrop of familial land battles, encroachment from outsiders and buried secrets coming to light?

Everyone’s favorite serial-killing heartthrob is back for one final season. After bouncing from New York to California to London, Penn Badgley’s stalker-murderer returns to the Big Apple, where he hopes to finally settle down and lead a quiet life for a change. We wouldn’t bet on it sticking.

Havoc

Between last year’s Rebel Ridge and Carry-On, Netflix is becoming a reliable source of well-made action-thrillers, and here comes another, starring Tom Hardy as a detective (unfortunately not named, like, Steve Havoc) trying to save a politician’s son from a criminal gang. Sounds generic, but with Gareth Edwards (Rogue One) directing and a solid supporting cast including Luis Guzmán, Timothy Olyphant and Forest Whitaker, it’s got a shot at being the streamer’s next great Friday night time-waster.

The Eternaut

A bizarre toxic snowstorm is only the beginning in this Argentinian sci-fi series, based on a 1950s comic serial. After the deadly weather event wipes out most of the population, a group of survivors discover there’s much more where that came from – and that’s when the real fight for survival begins.
