Avengers: Endgame directors, Anthony and Joe Russo, have tipped Bridgerton star Regé-Jean Page to be the next James Bond.
Page currently stars in The Gray Man, the latest project from the Russo brothers, but has long been tipped as a frontrunner to play the next James Bond following Daniel Craig’s exit in No Time to Die.
The Russo brothers were asked for their take on the rumours during the publicity tour for The Gray Man, in which Page plays a sharp-suited intelligence agent – albeit a sinister CIA boss and not a martini-drinking suave British spy.
‘He’s fantastic. I mean, he has more charisma in his pinky than most people do in their entire body,’ Joe Russo told Radio Times. ‘So you know, we’d watch him do anything – I mean we’d watch him read the phonebook.’
‘He’s a very savvy performer and has so much charm,’ added Anthony Russo.
Despite mixed reviews, Netflix has announced a sequel and spin-off for The Gray Man, with Ryan Gosling confirmed to reprise his role in the follow-up.
‘With so many amazing characters in the movie, we had always intended for The Gray Man to be part of an expanded universe, and we are thrilled that Netflix is announcing a sequel with Ryan, as well as a second script that we’re excited to talk about soon,’ the Russos said in a statement.
