Milan and Paris are both pillars of European culture, architecture, food and nightlife, so making connections between them easier can only be a good thing. And if you’re planning on exploring both, we’ve got some good news.
Trenitalia France has just announced the revival of its Paris-Milan (via Turin) service, which will be ferrying passengers from the French capital to the Lombardy capital from April 1, 2025.
The service has been suspended since a landslide caused severe damage near Maurienne in the French Alps on August 27, 2023, but now, booking is open as of January 21.
The journey takes between-six and-a-half to seven hours, but according to the Man in Seat 61, tickets start at a reasonable €35. There’s more information about tickets and timetables here.
But that’s not the only announcement Trenitalia France has made – the operator is also launching a brand new service between Paris and Marseille from June 15. Four round trips will run per day, ferrying passengers from the Gare de Lyon all the way to the Mediterranean in just three hours and 20 minutes. It’s set to compete with the existing TGV service between the two cities.
