One day, our kids will ask ‘What did you do during the 2020 lockdown?’. And we will look back, think hard then answer: ‘We mostly watched “Tiger King”.’

Netflix’s documentary series tracking the larger-than-life personalities and homocidal rivalries of American big-cat owners has gone more than viral: it’s become a total phenomenon since it landed on March 20. And for those who’ve already smashed through all seven hours, here’s some good news: a new bonus episode might be coming soon.

CNET reports that Jeff Lowe – one of the key personalities featured in the documentary – left a message on Saturday on the celebrity message site Cameo. The gist: ‘Netflix is adding one more episode that will be on next week. We’re filming here tomorrow.’

Now, we’re not saying this is definitely happening. Even against some pretty weak competition, Lowe didn’t come across as the most trustworthy character in ‘Tiger King’. There’s also the fact that social distancing measures would make filming new content pretty difficult right now. Netflix didn’t immediately respond to CNET’s request for a comment on the report.

Still, for anyone craving more ‘murder, mayhem and madness’, any rumour of another episode will be welcome news. And if it doesn’t turn out to be true? Well, we’ve got five suggestions of what to watch next after ‘Tiger King’. Because god knows we need something to distract us these days.
