Organisers confirmed on July 21 that between 500,000 and 600,000 tickets were still available to buy, across no less than 20 different sports.

Two hotly-anticipated events – the women’s and men’s 100 metres – still have tickets available, as do the women’s 200 metre and men’s 1500 metre finals.

There are also seats left for the rugby sevens, handball, volleyball, basketball, football, hockey, boxing, badminton, table tennis, judo, cycling, golf, weightlifting, canoe slalom, canoe sprint, rowing, diving, swimming, water polo, sailing, and the athletics. Unfortunately, not every sport has bargain tickets left, with men’s 100-metre final tickets available from €295. However, there are plenty of events with seats under €100 – football tickets for the group stages start at just €15.

There are also still 4,000 tickets left for the opening ceremony, but only the priciest categories are still available, which range from between €900-€2,730.

So far, 8.8 million Olympics tickets have been sold – but there’s still time to nab yours!
