Time Out says

Midway through The Way We Dance’s introduction of its protagonist in the opening scene, bubbly wannabe dancer Fleur (Cherry Ngan) breaks the fourth wall by surmising that we, the audience, must be supportive of Hong Kong cinema. She, along with her fellow cast mates, as well as director Adam Wong, have given us plenty of reasons to keep supporting. What TWWD lacks in star power or a strong script, it more than makes up for with unbridled joy. This hip-hop dance flick is a feel-good, inspirational breath of fresh air.
