As the 2012 presidential election approaches, here’s a Will Ferrell comedy about politics to lighten the mood and distract us from what’s really happening in Washington DC. Ferrell plays a Southern Democratic Congressman with a safe seat who comes a cropper when he’s revealed to be having an affair. That’s when Zach Galifianakis steps in, with the support of some corrupt local businessmen, to stand as his Republican opponent. The film is directed by Jay Roach, best known for directing the ‘Austin Powers’ films and ‘Meet the Parents’.
