Orps

Anyone who’s ever felt like an underdog won’t fail to be charmed by this heartwarming Norwegian family comedy. When they are kicked out of their school band by its histrionic female conductor, a group of five school kids decide to form a new band to rival them in the upcoming state championships. In the process, they learn the importance of friendship and believing in yourself, and that it’s cool to be a ‘nerd’. ‘Orps’s’ self-consciously progressive attitude towards ethnicity and disability also marks it out as well-worth tracking down.
