This movie, despite the name, just does not fly. Patrick Wilson, Amy Smart and New York City itself are all interesting enough elements, but first-time director Amy Hecht tries too hard and fails to engage the audience. Wilson plays Will, an architect with a beautiful but demanding wife (Smart), on the verge of jumping in bed with a big developer on a project to rebuild undervalued neighborhoods (shades of Atlantic Yards). Then he meets a designer (Lynn Collins) who wants to jump in bed with him. The central conflicts in the story—little guy versus corporate America, distracted husband versus bitchy wife—are all fairly standard, and the interwoven plot lines often feel like they're missing some key stitching. Hecht describes the film as an exploration of overcoming fear; I'm afraid to say this debut effort never quite overcomes its shortcomings.—Marci Weisler, digital business director
