'These colourful capsules might be the housing industry's answer to condensed milk - condensed living.' So said Holiday Magazine in 1970 about architect Lasse Saarinen's adventure in shelter, his UFO-shaped plastic dwelling, Futuro. 'Tomorrow's house today,' was the sales pitch, and these moulded space units seemed the epitome of the contemporary, Zeitgeist habitations that upped the stakes for the Joneses. This entertaining documentary charts the rapid rise and equally speedy fall - poor marketing and bad luck curtailed expected US sales - of this fine period pod. Offering a feast of future-retro imagery, it's a loving homage to a slice of international Finlandia. (Note: the three-in-one title frame reads 'Tulevaisuuden olotila Futuro A New Stance for Tomorrow'.
