Exhausting, amusing but ultimately rather sad documentary tracing the friendship and rivalry between two US bands - the Brian Jonestown Massacre and the Dandy Warhols. While exploring the old contradiction between desire for success and fear of selling-out, the film is more concerned with the ongoing mental breakdown of BJM’s Anton Newcombe, whose egotism – and heroin addiction – sees him treated as both a figure of fun and of tragedy.
