Superheroes. They can fly, outrun bullets, wear outfits that no one else would get away with and they shatter global box-office records. They’ve also been around longer than you might think. Now, of course, the plethora of Marvel movies reign supreme, slinging popcorn and giant metal hammers down at its challengers, despite the best efforts of the DC extended universe to play catch up. In fact, the genre now scoops up billions of dollars each year, and shows no signs of slowing down.
