The first sequel in Lampoon’s still ongoing cash-cow movie series isn’t a patch either on its predecessor ‘Vacation’, or the festive follow-up ‘Christmas Vacation’, but there are still laughs to be had as the Griswold family win a trip to the Old Continent and discover a multitude of crude national stereotypes and slumming bit-part actors. The London scenes are enjoyable – the ‘look kids... Big Ben... Parliament’ roundabout routine should be a staple of every family trip to the capital – but overall, it’s not quite funny or memorable enough.
