Vivaaaaaaaa Las Vegas! So you’re heading to Sin City, The Oasis of Nevada, the City of Second Chances. Well, before you set off, consider this: There’s a lot more to the city than casinos and world-class entertainment. Sure, there’s metric tonnes of both those things to enjoy, but say you want something a little different? Well, this is a city full of wonderful quirks and strange environments, so you will not be short on options. Here’s a mere seven things you never knew you could see in Las Vegas, to go and see.

RECOMMENDED: Here are the very best things to do in Las Vegas

Nope, not aliens exactly, but an immersive experience epicenter is pretty out of this world. Throw an ax, wander through a bamboo volcano, race on a zip line, do a fight simulation, pretend you’re in a shooting game via VR. In fact, If you’re VR curious, this might well be a glimpse of the future for you. There’s also Brainstorm, which is the closest to actually having your mind read you may ever come. Don’t play poker here! Not that you’ll want to, there’s so much to do at this hub.

Price: free to enter, individual events vary

Aliens, Nevada’s a big place for them. The infamous highly classified United States Air Force (USAF) facility known to many as Area 51 is just north of Las Vegas. Rumor has it, this is where the USAF keeps UFOs and Aliens it has found. True or not, this is a one-stop shop for knowledge and souvenirs. It’s also right next to the legal Alien-themed brothel.
Price: free to enter

A preacher and a pornographer join forces and create a museum dedicated to the heritage of erotica. It could only ever be based in Las Vegas, couldn’t it? There’s 24,000 square feet of permanent exhibits, and a floor containing loads of art (some of it is for sale).
Price: $19

Dig This might look more like work than a holiday, but just where at home do you actually get to romp about in a bulldozer, or a digging machine, or play ‘bucket basketball’? Nowhere, exactly. That’s why Las Vegas is the best. Dig This lets people of all ages do all these things, and you can dig trenches, build mounds, whatever! Makes a difference from poker and the small Eiffle Tower right?
Price: from $195 (kids from $25)

As you’d expect, this is a spot to enjoy a nice bit of dinner after all the wacky adventures of the day. EXCEPT here’s another little idiosyncratic and unusual offering. A restaurant waaaaaaay high up, that spins around. Yup. 360 views of the city? You got ‘em here. And the food’s nice, tuck into that as you slowly revolve, taking in the entire city’s views. We’d go just before it gets dark, so you can catch the skyline in the day time, and the neon night.
Price: Varies depending on what you order

6. Visit The International Car Forest of the Last Church

If you head over to spooky-town Goldfield, keep an eye on your car. You don’t want it becoming part of the International Car Forest of the Last Church down the road. It’s a spot where all sorts of uniquely decorated (and rusting) cars have been buried nose-first so that they stand up. Kinda like trees… ish.
Price: free

What better use of a former courthouse than to turn it into a nonprofit organization with “a mission to advance the public understanding of organized crime's history and impact on American society”, as they say. Whether you’ve been hitting the casino and want to learn more about the mobsters who invested in them (Benjamin “Bugsy” Siegel and Meyer Lansky), or you just thought Godfather (one and two anyway) was a great set of movies, you’ll likely find something unconventionally interesting here.

Price: from $29.95
