Las Vegas has its share of dive bars and one of the oldest is having a block party with music, booze and burgers. Hard Hat Lounge is hosting a free block party November 1 that will start at 8pm and run late into morning. Guests must be 21 to attend.

While two local bands, Same Sex Mary and Zach Ryan, are scheduled to perform, there’s a good chance for a surprise appearance or two. Last year, Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash (who is a friend of Hard Hat owner Frank Sidoris) performed for over a half hour.

Stay Tuned Burgers will be serving its classic smash burgers ($9 single and $11 doubles) as well as vegan versions and $5 grilled cheese sandwiches.

Hard Hat, located on Industrial Road near the Strat, opened in 1962. Sidoris took over the 24-hour video poker dive bar a couple years ago and has been running the place like it’s meant to be. Hard Hat offers all day drink discounts for construction workers and has a twice daily happy hour from 2 to 5pm and 2 to 5am when you can grab a $3 Pabst or $5 drafts.
