This is a win for locals. Holsteins, which closed its burger joint at Cosmopolitan in July, has announced it’s opening a new restaurant, Holsteins Shakes & Buns, in the Arts District downtown. It’s welcome news to Holsteins fans who’ll no longer have to battle Strip traffic to get their fix.

The restaurant will be located at 1216 South Main Street, next to Velveteen Rabbit. It’s scheduled to open in early spring 2025.

Holsteins spent 14 years at Cosmopolitan serving its behemoth burgers, boozy milkshakes and innovative apps such as spicy ahi poke and pork belly fries. Expect a similar menu at the new location; that means big juicy burgers piled tall with toppings (including foie gras) and alcohol-boosted milkshakes like the Campfire S’mores, a blend of rich chocolate, toasted marshmallow and whiskey.

Aiming for a hipster and sports-loving crowd, the new Holsteins is said to be a 2,800-square-foot space that will have an edgy, more industrial feel with brick walls and concrete floors. It will be open for lunch and offer late-night dining.

The Cosmopolitan has announced it’s opening a new concept, Amaya Modern Mexican Restaurant, in the former Holsteins location.
