If you haven’t visited GIADA for its famous weekend brunch or just popped in to grab some orzo meatballs or perhaps pick up some of those lemon ricotta cookies to take home (if they survive the ride), then now is the perfect time to reacquaint yourself.
The namesake restaurant from Giada De Laurentiis is celebrating its 10th anniversary at the Cromwell. To celebrate, De Laurentiis not only rolled and twirled some pasta with a few guests but she launched a special anniversary tasting menu that runs through the end of the year.
The four-course tasting experience costs $110 per person and includes a souvenir menu.
For the first course, diners will choose from either an arugula salad with crispy pancetta or crab arancini. Moving on, you’ll have to decide between her lemon spaghetti with shrimp and mascarpone cheese or the rigatoni with wild mushroom and vegetable Bolognese, both solid choices.
Then it’s on to the main course and whether you want the branzino with saffron-fennel jus, fennel confit and fingerling potatoes or short ribs dripping in a red wine glaze with creamy polenta and grilled asparagus. And lastly, it’s either those lemon ricotta cookies or tiramisu.
Choose wisely or go often.
