It’s back! One of the city’s best rooftops, where party-goers drink Juju Jungle Punch cocktails out of giant fish bowls and stare at the Strip, has reopened. The Rio’s VooDoo Lounge, which has been closed for the past few years, will now be open weekends.
Located on the 51st floor of the resort, VooDoo Lounge came back alive on January 17 and will be open every Friday and Saturday from 10pm to 3am. The ultra-lounge offers stunning panoramic views of the Strip, bold new cocktails and live DJs. And the best news, there is no cover charge.
In addition to its views, VooDoo Lounge is known for its innovative cocktails ($17) like its spicy Devil’s Margarita, Botanist’s Spell (a mix of gin, passionfruit and elderflower liqueurs) and Cursed Cachaca—flavored with muddled blackberries.
And longtime fans of VooDoo will be happy to hear that they’re back serving three shareable punch bowls ($45 each). This includes the previously mentioned rum-heavy Juju Jungle Punch, a sweet but strong VooDoo Lagoon, which features tequila, and a vodka-based melon and grapefruit concoction called the Serpent’s Spell.
The reopening of VooDoo Lounge is just the latest news into the reinvestment into the 35-year-old resort. Since Dreamscape Companies purchased the all-suite property in 2019 and they’ve since partnered with World of Hyatt (allowing members to earn and redeem points for eligible stays), renovated most of the rooms, remodeled the casino and unveiled several new dining concepts such as the Canteen Food Hall, Lapa Lounge and Luckley Tavern & Grill.
