Welcome to a vast crypt of demonic possessions, hairy lycanthropes and enough cinematic frights to turn your blood to ice. Yes, Halloween is here again and with it long dark nights in front of a TV flickering terrifying images at us. And, boy, do we love being traumatised by a good – or even bad – horror movie. There’s nothing better than settling down to a feast of frights, scares and dark delvings into the cobwebbed corners of the human psyche – and there’s no better time to do it than in the midst of spooky season.
This year we’re celebrating the greatest ghouls, goblins, critters, Satanic pumpkins, vampires and otherwise indefinable terrors we collectively know and love as movie monsters. A feast of beasts of all shapes and sizes, it’s a salute to the scariest entities in cinemas – a love letter to these (mostly) malevolent forces that haunt our dreams.
