New Year’s should be rung in with a fine meal with great service, a special menu with lots of upgrades and a champagne toast. But we also aren't against celebrating with a group of friends at your favorite pizza spot either! There’s no one way to do the celebration, but there are a lot of restaurants open and serving celebratory feasts. We found all of the best spots, along with details about what they’re serving and hours they’re open.  Be sure to make a reservation early, as seats fill up fast. Where to get NYE dinner in Boston

Duck into dinner at this classic bistro before enjoying all the First Night activities on the Common this New Year’s eve! Chef Joel Eugene, will be offering Artisan Bistro’s full dinner menu along with a few decadent specials including grilled porterhouse steak and a jumbo lobster tail.

Whether you want to celebrate late in the evening or earlier, this South End favorite from chef Michael Serpa has you covered with an all day menu for your group. All dishes will be served to share, at $75 per guest. The regular menu will not be offered, but who cares when you’re dining on a chef prepared feast of pan con tomate, remolachas, hamachi crudo, pulpo, croquetas de bacalo, filet mignon and more!’

The sports bar and restaurant Banners will be open during their normal hours of operations for brunch, lunch, and dinner services on New Year’s eve. Starting at 8pm, admission will be $70 per person for a celebration, including a complimentary cocktail, tasty menu, and champagne toast at midnight. Attendees can expect a DJ, party favors, raffle prizes and more.

5. Bardo’s Bar Pizza

Keeping it casual this New Year’s eve? Head to Southie for some of the best bar pizza in the area. And, along with their normal lineup of pizza and beers, guests can indulge in a top-secret pizza special to be announced on Bardo’s socials soon.

Tucked into the Westin Copley, with gorgeous views of the Boston Public Library, Bar 10 will be serving an all day feast on New Year’s eve. In addition to the typical lunch and dinner menus, you’ll find specials like duck salad and filet mignon. Bar10 will have live music by Lisa Bello & Friends, a midnight champagne toast, and a special champagne menu available for purchase for New Year’s Eve.

For dinner, from 5 to 8pm, enjoy the restaurant’s a la carte menu and live music, and then at 9pm, enjoy a special set menu, more music and burlesque performances.

10. Civility Social House

Somerville residents looking for a dinner spot can head to Assembly Row for a friendly, all-American meal at Civility Social House. The restaurant's viral mac ‘n’ cheese doughnut will be on the menu, along with new comfort classics from the winter menu.

The Will Gilson fronted Italian restaurant will offer a four course dinner on New Year’s eve, with some luxurious additions including smoked wagyu beef carpaccio, lobster risotto, braised short rib rigatoni, baked scallops, grilled NY strip and much more. Price for this prix fixe meal is $100 per person.

At this Somerville gem, chef Erin Miller and her team will be extending their chef’s counter menu to the whole dining room in celebration of 2024, o­­­ffering up a five-course prix fixe menu ($160) full of culinary surprises. Reservations are required and each reservation includes a complimentary glass of bubbles.

This cozy Newton spot is offering a $95 prix fixe to ring in the New Year, starting with snacks for the table (including a caviar option), foie gras terrine, seared scallops, venison loin, butternut squash terrine, desserts and of course bubbles!

14. Gufo

New from the team that brought you SRV, East Cambridge’s Gufo will be serving dinner plus a late night bar menu – including thin style pizza – on New Year’s eve. Don’t miss the restaurant’s winter pop up “Alpine Apres” which is located in their enclosed, heated patio space and has been transformed into a 70’s inspired ski lodge nestled in the Italian Alps. The pop-up will offer Apine pizza, baked gnocchi, fingerling potatoes with bacon and fonduta and soft polenta mushroom ragu.

One of Harvard Square's most popular dining destinations is open for brunch and dinner on New Year’s eve. For dinner, the restaurant is serving a three-course prix fixe menu from executive Chef Nick Deutmeyer, that will include a champagne toast. Don't forget to start off your dinner with add-ons from the raw bar because, if you’re not going big on New Year’s what are you doing with your night?

If you’re keeping it out in the ‘burbs for the celebration, Burlington’s Karma Asian Fusion will be serving their regular menu of delicious, delicate sushi all day long on New Year’s Eve. Get some shopping in and have a nice dinner – tou’ll be in bed in time to watch the ball drop!

17. Limani Grille

The newest spot in the Seaport, Mediterranean restaurant Limani Grille is offering a $140 pre-fixe NYE dinner menu with a complimentary glass of champagne. Every seat in the house will have waterfront views of the fireworks. Appetizers include octopus, calamari, and Greek dips. The main course includes a choice of salmon, chicken, lamb chops or filet mignon. Dessert options include baklava, karidopita and loukoumades. There will also be a live DJ.

8:30 – 11:30pm for dinner, until 2am for drinks

18. Little Whale Oyster Bar

Spending New Year’s in Back Bay never sounded so tasty! Little Whale will offer half-bottles of champagne, dozens of oysters and caviar and a champagne toast at midnight. Cost is $175 and the full dinner menu will be available, plus more specials.

The Inman Square favorite will offer a four-course culinary extravaganza, culminating in a delightful dessert. The courses feature starters like tuna tartare with gooseberry, black garlic, and cilantro, as well as mushroom carpaccio with porcini "steak sauce," red watercress, and toasted garlic oil. Indulge in truffled parsnip soup, little gems "wedge" with green goddess, Shropshire blue, and bacon lardons, and more in the subsequent courses.

23. Rochambeau

A late night party at this Back Bay bistro? Sounds like a blast! Starting at 9pm, Rochambeau is hosting a Devils & Angels party with live music, a champagne toast and party favors. Exceptionally fresh seafood seems like a fantastic idea, and at both Row34 locations, fried oysters, Maine crab cakes and both hot and cold lobster rolls based on Sewall’s grandmother’s recipe are on the menu. Of course, don’t skip the impressive list of small-production, local, and rare craft beers that are always on tap.

One of Boston’s finest (and most fun) restaurants, Lydia Shire’s Scampo will offer a four course a la carte menu, featuring diverse and delectable dishes to ring in the new year. Pizza options range from classic tomato, fior di latte, and basil to lamb or lobster. Starters include cauliflower chowder, Chef Simon's arugula salad with shrimp scampi, and a delicate crepe with golden potato. Seafood lovers can enjoy chilled Wellfleet oysters or a luxurious addition of 30-gram royal Belgian osetra caviar. The pasta tasting includes porcini ravioli, buttered crab tagliolini, and beet gnocchi with black truffle. Main courses offer diverse choices like Chilean sea bass, baked gnocchi parisienne, and local swordfish with pepperoncini risotto. Desserts include a chocolate extravaganza and Scampo tiramisu. Prix fixe is $150, excluding tax, tips, and alcoholic beverages.

Source in Harvard Square is teaming up with Bully Boy Distillers on NYE and offering a spirited 4 course pre-fixe dinner, $55 per person when booked in advance (and $70 day of) with each dish featuring Bully Boy Spirits, including Arancinis with Bully Boy Vodka Sauce, Pasta with a Bully Boy Bourbon Cream Sauce and a Rum Baba Dessert.
