Remnants & Traces

This exhibition is a response from the Midlands Textile Forum following two visits they made to the Newman Brothers Coffin Fitting Factory. Visiting the site both pre and post-restoration, the textile artists were particularly interested in documenting the small details that often went unnoticed, and the remains of the past. The work is inspired by memory, mortality and funerary practices. Visitors will have the chance to meet the artists involved at a series of informal events ( Feb 7, Mar 7, Apr 11).
