The London Indian Film Festival returns to the capital for its sixth year this summer, and for the first time ever, the event will branch out into the second city with screenings taking place at Cineworld Broad Street and Midlands Art Centre. Highlights within the programme of features, documentaries and short films exploring the Indian subcontinent include 'Monsoon' which focusses on the great rains that make there way through every region of India, bringing life and sustenance to many as well as great hardships to others (July 22-23). Also on the bill is 'The Crow's Egg' - a story of two slum boys who become obsessed with a new pizza parlour that has opened close to their playground. With one pizza costing more that their family earns in a month, the kids begin hatching schemes to earn the cash so they can sample the foreign dish (July 24). Find the full programme here.
