Anita And Me

Meera Syal’s 1996 coming-of-age tale makes its way to the Birmingham Rep for the very first time. The story follows Meena, the daughter of the only Punjabi family living in the little mining village of Tollington in the 70s. Here she makes firm friends with feisty Anita, who appears to be her soul mate, but the world has other plans and she soon finds herself in a struggle between cultures.
