See anyone who looks extra tired at their desk this morning? While there may be a few still nursing weekend hangovers, you should be able to identify a few keen astronomers too...
In case you missed it (it did take place between 3-5am, to be fair), this morning was the first 'supermoon' eclipse since 1982 – when the full moon was at its closest point to earth in its lunar orbit.
Making it extra special (as if a moon looking nearly 10% larger than normal wasn't special enough), the supermoon was also a 'blood moon', meaning it was tinged red by sunlight passing through the Earth's atmosphere.
You'll have to wait until 2033 until you'll get the chance to the next see one. So, in the meantime, take a look at some of these great supermoon pictures over Birmingham from those dedicated snappers who were prepared to give up their sleep for our benefit...
