This Mortal Coil

This exhibition and events series explores the relationships between death, the macabre and the creation of art. The programme centres around a project titled ‘X-Ray Audio’ created by Stephen Coates and Paul Heartfield which features records cut onto X-Ray plates in Soviet-era Russia (Nov 6-21), with a live X-Ray pressing event to accompany it (Nov 13). Other highlights include a drawing class with Art Macabre (Nov 27) and a afternoon of discussion and film where academics and artists will be delving into the connections between creative practice and death (Nov 27).
