You thought the Turks had been chewing doner since time immemorial? Sorry, it was invented in Germany in 1971 by Mehmet Aygun, who eventually opened the highly successful chain of Turkish restaurants of which this is the flagship branch. While you'll get one of the best doners in Berlin, you owe it to yourself to check out the rest of the menu, which involves various other skewered meats in sauce, and some morish bread rolls.
