A comfortable, high-ceilinged café-bar across from the Zionskirch in the heart of leafy Mitte, Kapelle takes its name from Die Rote Kapelle, 'the Red Orchestra'. This was a clandestine anti-fascist organisation which, in the 1930s and 1940s used the Kapelle's basement as a secret meeting place. Today, the regularly-changing menu features organic meat and vegetarian dishes, with proceeds being donated to local charities and social organisations.
