Founded in 1999 by Guido W Baudach, Martin Germann, Peter Koch and originally named Maschenmode (it was situatued in a former knitting factory in East Berlin) Baudach is one of Berlin’s pioneering galleries. Over its 14 years, the gallery has evolved its focus and has occupied locations across town, including spaces in Charlottenberg and Wedding. In September 2013, it moved into the vast Tagesspiel complex on Potsdamerstrasse, the current hotspot for some of Berlin’s more refined, mature institutions. With a roster that includes Thomas Zipp, Andreas Hofer Thilo Heinzmann and Andy Hope, the museum-quality shows and extensive resources for visitors and collectors makes Baudach a must-see on any Berlin art trip.
