Time Out says

Time Out Market is a unique global concept, celebrating authentic flavours and bringing together the best food and chefs of the city, all under one roof. What started in 2014 with the opening of Time Out Market Lisbon has turned into a global phenomenon: Time Out Market Barcelona, which opened in July 2024, is the ninth location of this culinary concept, following in the footsteps of major cities around the world (New York, Montreal, Porto, Cape Town and more).

You’ll find Time Out Market Barcelona at Port Vell, on the terrace-viewpoint of Maremagnum. Directly accessible from the street via escalators and a lift, the 5,250 square metre space features a curated selection of 14 chefs, a full-service restaurant and four bars, two of which are outdoors with spectacular views of the sea and the city, including iconic buildings like the Torre del Reloj in Barceloneta and the new fish market.

Impro Show at the Time Out Market Barcelona

In Impro Show, the audience takes on the dual role of scriptwriter and protagonist. Guided by suggestions from randomly chosen spectators, improvisers craft roles, stories, and settings in this original and interactive performance. This improvised theater format has already delivered over 8,000 performances to 2,500,000 spectators, making it the second most-watched show in Catalonia. Since anything can happen in any performance, we still don’t know what surprises await at the Time Out Market Barcelona. What’s certain is that, for 75 minutes, the actors will whisk you away from your routine and invite you to imagine, laugh, and be amazed. They will be performing for free on fridays 17 of January and 7 of February at 8 PM. Make the most of your evening by enjoying drinks and a bite to eat before or after the show, and experience the best of Barcelona all under one roof—with spectacular views to match.

Chinese New Year at the Time Out Market

China lands at the Time Out Market in Barcelona to celebrate the Chinese New Year with regional food, traditional performances, Chinese martial arts, children’s activities, and much more, on February 1, from 12:00 to 14:00 and from 16:00 to 18:00. As a proper gastronomic market, food takes center stage, and throughout the day, you’ll be able to enjoy typical dishes for the occasion at special prices. There will be a tasting of butifarra dumplings from Casa Guinart with Dr. Zhang (€5 for 3 pieces) and a tasting of Sichuan-style spicy sauce bravas from Bar Nuri with Casa Panda (€5). A burst of flavors that will transport you straight to Asia! The day kicks off in the morning with an exciting show: the lion and dragon will make an energetic appearance, dancing around the space to the sound of traditional Chinese music. After the performance, you’ll be able to enjoy a photocall session with these impressive creatures. From 13:00 to 14:00, the whole family can take part in a kungfu workshop suitable for all levels. If you miss the morning lion and dragon parade, don’t worry! At 16:00, the Chinese lion and dragon parade will make a return. But the fun doesn’t stop there: from 17:00 to 18:00, in four different areas –the main stage, the Xaloc terrace, the Paradiso terrace, and the Damm area– various Chinese martial arts exhibitions will take place in rotation. Students and masters, in collaboration with the Instituto De Wu Shu, will offer short 10-minute shows. A mesmerizing...

Masterclass and oyster tasting with pairing at Time Out Market

Opening an oyster is no small feat… To enjoy them with style, you need to learn the art, and if you join us at the Time Out Market Event Hall on Sunday, February 16th, and Saturday, March 1 at 1 PM, we’ll be delighted to teach you. The restaurant Fran López (Villa Retiro *Michelin) has organized a masterclass and oyster tasting paired with Catalan wines and cava—an experience to savor! There are only 40 spots available, so be sure to book in advance and do it quickly! The session includes a demonstration on how to open an oyster and an explanation of how they are cultivated, so you’ll gain deeper knowledge of the delicacies that will melt in your mouth. Then, it’s time for the main event: a tasting of four Delta oysters, each prepared with a different recipe and paired with a local drink. A glass of Modernista Blanc DO Terra Alta will start the experience with its delicate freshness, perfectly complementing a natural oyster. The second step is bolder: the Bloody Mary-style oyster will be paired with Vermut Modernista de Terra Alta. Third, the Ajoblanco Ajonegro oyster takes center stage, accompanied by Indià Blanc DO Terra Alta. And to wrap it all up, the Mar y Montaña oyster will delight your palate alongside Kripta DO Cava. An oyster ritual that will leave you more than satisfied!
