This two-kilometre road near Chulalongkorn University has become a  go-to dining spot in Bangkok and in its embrace are a number of restaurants well worth visiting, even if their queues are sometimes long. Vietnamese hot pot lovers have a new hot spot since Big Pho opened at the beginning of the year. For a great shared dining experience try their gigantic pork set (B165) or beef set (B185) with two signature sauces – sweet and salty and spicy and sour – and finish off with the sweet gem of longan sticky rice.

The epitome of Thai-style desserts created with Cantonese influences, they guarantee a happy ending.

Made-to-order dishes abound in Ban Tad Thong and Hereduan does them better than most. Known for serving a deliciously creamy omelette, pair it with garlic prawns (B320) or seafood with chilli (B240). This outlet offers a different dining experience from their other branches as it provides a retro Cantonese ambience with wooden walls and jade green tables.
