Similar to its local food scene, Bangkok’s cocktail scene has been enjoying its fair share of the global spotlight. The bustling metropolis has become a destination for creative mixology in the region, with local bars winning regional awards and locally bred mixologists recently emerging victorious in global cocktail competitions. One of the prominent supporters behind this growth is Diageo, purveyor of premium spirits, and its renowned bartender training program, Diageo Reserve World Class.
Since 2009, Diageo Reserve World Class has been igniting the passion of young mixologists in more than 60 countries around the world through intensive programs aimed at elevating their bartending skills. But that’s not all. Diageo also supports local entrepreneurs in several cities around the world—from Berlin to Mexico City—with the World Class Cocktail Festival, a week-long event that celebrates the art of mixed drinks. This year, from 5 to 11 of June, the festival comes to Bangkok—the first time in Southeast Asia.
Here’s everything you need to know about the seven-day cocktail celebration.
