The owner of this restaurant brings his beloved mother’s recipes to the nightlife district in Soi Sukhumvit 11. Meaning “east” in Thai, Burapa evokes an elegant train carriage that takes the casual Eastern Thai fare to the next level, along with cocktails that creatively play with local flavor and ingredients.
This Bangkok institution, which recently celebrated its tenth anniversary, is known for its 25-meter-long communal table on which fusion Thai food is served. Images of Thai dancers and patterns inspired by the wai gesture are laser-projected on the wooden walls and marble flooring, adding a touch of now to the elegant interiors. An alfresco area opens up to a spacious wooden deck that offers glistening views of Bangkok’s skyline.
