Time Out says

Every diner transforms throughout the day to cater to different clienteles, but The Diner (from the team behind Tryst) is a true shapeshifter. Situated in the heart of Adams Morgan, this 24-hour establishment sees waves of crowds, starting with neighborhood regulars, families and kids in the morning and during the brunch window; office workers and construction crews during lunchtime; residents and students from Howard or AU around dinnertime; and party animals craving pancakes after a night of drinking. Ashanti Murrain, general manager of The Diner, says the music, the lighting and even the TV channels change based on the crowds. The food is fast and consistent, and American comfort dishes are favorites. The Diner Royale plate will hit all the right spots and the milkshakes are packed with ice cream and loaded with toppings. The Columbia Road Special burger is a standout, topped with cream cheese, jalapeño and bacon.
