The editors at Fodor’s Travel, and the 750 global experts they bring in each year, really know their stuff. So when the 2025 edition of Fodor’s Finest: The Most Incredible Hotels in the World is released, you know the hotels on the list are going to be exceptional. And right there alongside global stunners like The Anam Cam Ranh in Vietnam, Turtle Island in Fiji and Grand Hotel Son Net in Mallorca are two hotels right here in D.C.

The chosen hotels range from budget to bucket-list luxury, proving that an amazing hotel experience doesn’t have to cost a fortune. Because these hotels cover a range of budgets and styles, Fodor’s doesn’t rank them, so you can consider all of them on the same level. Only 15 U.S. hotels made the list (17 in North America, with two in Canada), and D.C. scored with two unique properties: The Willard InterContinental and the Yours Truly.

The Willard, just steps from the White House, is a Gilded Age gem known for high tea at Peacock’s Alley and the political and social elite meeting spot Round Robin Bar. Fodor’s complements the sophisticated decor, luxurious beds and pet-friendly offerings.

The decidedly more playful Yours Truly also made the list. Fodor’s notes the colorful boho decor, luxe Karl Lagerfeld amenities, in-room record player option and the private listening room that guests can book. The experts also highlight the on-site deli’s legendary bagel sandwiches, the Southern Classics served and the hotel’s restaurant and the breezy patio that changes vibes with the seasons.
