Madera

The large and comfortable guestrooms of the Madera have recently been transformed with strong blocks of color, combined with stripes and patterns, for a vibrant, cheerful look. It’s eclectic but not overwhelming and typical of the Kimpton group, which owns other hotels in the DC area, among them the Helix, Donovan House and the Monaco. The location is hard to beat, and we like the wood and country look of the Firefly bar and restaurant. Specialty rooms include extras such as exercise equipment and kitchenette. There’s a wine hour for guests in the evening.
