The Gardens Ice House

The trek out to Laurel is worth it: There’s no better place to celebrate skating sports in the DMV. The facility has three indoor rinks, where public ice time, pick-up hockey, speed skating, broomball, curling and, twice a year, Zamboni classes occur. That’s right: You can learn to drive an ice-resurfacer. For old-school hockey fans, there’s Whitey’s Pond, an outdoor rink open November through March, weather permitting.
