These are the most popular destinations for Lyft riders in the country's top cities

Elsewhere, 3 Dollar Bill, Freehold and Nowadays topped the list of the most popular places in New York for Lyft riders. The most popular spots were in downtown or in Brooklyn, which checks out. In previous years, NYC's best clubs were all clustered in one part of town whereas now they can be found from Ridgewood to the Financial District and points in between.

Miami's most loyal Lyft users love a wild night out—even if it requires a longer ride. We’re talking club restaurants, boozy slushies on the beach and trendy Miami rooftop bars. Tourists are still mainly sticking to one neighborhood, South Beach, taking short trips to popular sites like Gianni's, Joe's Stone Crab and Palace Bar.

Bars in West Hollywood make up more than half of L.A.'s top destinations for Lyft riders. In fact, the Abbey, WeHo’s famous three-decade-old gay bar, is the most popular spot in all of Los Angeles when it come to taking a Lyft ride. The same pattern can be observed on or adjacent to the University of Southern California campus—where many of the service’s most “loyal spots” are found. 

Besides Northalsted gay bar Sidetrack and modern steakhouse Maple & Ash, Chicago's most popular destinations for Lyft users are a series of West Loop restaurants—from Aba to Lyra to Duck Duck Goat and our very own Time Out Market Chicago. Regarding taking longer rides (more than 20 miles), it seems most people were going to or from the Foster-Walker Complex, a student residence hall on Northwestern’s campus.

One thing is very clear about the San Francisco Lyft user data: people in San Francisco love eating out. From popular chains to local institutions to buzzy award-winners, restaurants are the top destinations for riders in the city. Local institution Original Joe's and Michelin-starred restaurant Dumpling Home, respectively, topped the lists of where locals and tourists take the most Lyft rides.
