How to celebrate Mother’s Day

  • Shopping

Who doesn’t like opening a box of handmade truffles or picture-perfect bon bons? Luckily, many of the most renowned chocolatiers in the USA offer next-day delivery throughout the States, so you can gift Mom goodies from Garcia Nevett, Chocolat Uzma, Stick With Me Sweets and other top spots. Bonus: Most of these companies offer next-day deliveries.

  • Flower shops

Looking for a company that can send Mom a host of color-popping options, no matter where she is in the U.S. and for (relatively) cheap? And how about contactless deliveries: Are you into those? We’ve got you covered with our roundup of florists (the Bouqs Co, FTD and Teleflora, among others) that tick all of those boxes—and might just make her day.

Ah, brunch, the meal that immediately springs to mind when we think of Mother’s Day. Want to share a memorable one from a safe distance over video conference? Then we suggest everyone in your group concocts a recipe (our colleagues at Time Out London concocted a nifty, easy one for pancakes) and eats together at a designated time.

What’s brunch without some choice drinks? A few weeks back, we hit up bartenders from our favorite watering holes in the USA to come up with a rundown of some simple-to-make (and simply awesome) libations. We’re particularly jazzed to try the Palmade from San Francisco’s Palm House this Mother’s Day.

Just because you’re not in the same house as Mom doesn’t mean you can’t take in a movie, as evidenced by  this app , which lets you  stream the best movies on Netflix in a group chat. Looking for a flick that’s perfect for Mother’s Day? We’ve compiled our favorite movies for the holiday, which range from lighthearted comedies and moving dramas to fun animated family fare and campy throwbacks.

  • Games and hobbies

If you’re jonesing for a few laughs (and soe healthy competition), try an online party game that your crew can enjoy from the safety of your respective pads. We’re talking everything from OG online-trivia phenom You Don’t Know Jack and tried-and-true classics like Scrabble to naughty laugh-fests such as Cards Against Humanity and easy crowd-pleasers like Heads Up.
