We have to be honest: we're not the biggest fans of plane snacks. Sure, nuts and pretzels almost always hit the spot, but we're partial to a more diverse range of midday food and, although we certainly miss flying these days, we're not particularly craving on-board meals.
But, alas, not everyone shares in on our opinion which is why Imperfect Foods—whose mission is "to eliminate food waste and build a better food system for everyone—"is now selling JetBlue's snack boxes to the delight of grounded flyers all over the country.
Specifically speaking, the company has sold 16,000 cheese snack trays featuring crackers, dried cherries and almonds for $2.99 per box. JetBlue's supplier sold the trays to Imperfect Foods directly (at a discount, of course) and donated the rest of their inventory to Feeding America. Clap it up for the airline!
If you're averse to cheese and prefer, say, United Airlines' popular stroopwafels—you're in luck. The carrier has now partnered with Daelmans to sell the snack as a home delivery at a 15% markdown. Sounds like a good deal to us.
You can even opt to prepare the brand's banana bread or ice cream sandwich home, as the airline has shared both recipes on the official website. Take a look at them right here.
Although we're still unsure about when we'll be able to freely fly across the world again, we're now one step closer to a pretty realistic at-home simulation of a cross-country trip—complete with plane snacks, of course.
