Always with the times, former President Barack Obama has now joined Community, a platform that allows users to send and receive text messages from large groups. Which means that we can now all directly contact 44 and tell him about the pent up frustration we've been dealing with for months and, of course, profess our undying trust in him.
Obama made the announcement via Twitter earlier today. "All right, let's try something new," he writes in a tweet. "If you're in the United States, send me a text at 773-365-9687—I want to hear how you're doing, what's on your mind, and how you're planning on voting this year."
All right, let's try something new. If you’re in the United States, send me a text at 773-365-9687 — I want to hear how you're doing, what's on your mind, and how you're planning on voting this year.

I'll be in touch from time to time to share what's on my mind, too. pic.twitter.com/NX91bSqbtG
This isn't Obama's first foray into the digital. In addition to Twitter, he's been using Snapchat and Twitch to get people to vote and, according to Digital Trends, back in 2016 he also used Twitch to encourage gamers to get health insurance.
Community has been pretty popular among celebrities of all calibers. Actress Kerry Washington recently asked folks in Toronto to text her their favorite local green juice destinations, for example. Ashton Kutcher and the Jonas Brothers have also used the service.
The best part of this already great news? Obama promises to "be in touch from time to time to share what's on my mind, too." We'll be sitting by our cell phones, waiting for that to happen.
