In these trying times, virtual experiences having become the go-to diversions, whether that means visiting one of the country's fine museums, or trekking through one of its great national parks, or settling down for the evening with your favorite jigsaw puzzle app. Now you can add virtual bingo to the list (or at least one game of it) courtesy of Matthew McConaughey.

The rom-com star turned Oscar-winner turned Lincoln Continental pitch man recently dropped in via Facebook on The Enclave at Round Rock Senior Living facility in Round Rock, Texas to host a game of virtual bingo for a group of delighted residents. Joining him were his wife, Brazilian-American model and designer Camila Alves, their children and his mother Kay. The proceedings were shared in an online video, and it's clear that a good time was had by all.

The lanky actor—who made his breakout appearance in Dazed and Confused (set in Austin) and also won an Oscar for Dallas Buyers Club—is a proud Texan, and since the coronavirus has touched his state, he's appeared in PSAs to encourage his fellow Lone Star citizens to practice social distancing. In one of them, he described the current situation as a "red light that will eventually turn green," a line echoed by the seniors at Round Rock in their own video thanking McConaughey, in which they promise to “continue to turn a red light into a green light.” Well as someone might say, alright, alright, alright!
