Sandy beaches and warm water calling your name? Turks and Caicos is an excellent option for a beach vacation and the island country is currently welcoming international tourists from around the world.
Here's what you need to know before you go.
Visitors to Turks and Caicos will need a TCI Assured Travel Authorization in order to board their flight. This is a free authorization which you apply for online. As part of the authorization, you'll need a negative PCR test taken within 5 days of travel; insurance which covers Covid-related medical costs including the possibility of full hospitalization, doctors’ visits, prescriptions, and an air ambulance; and a completed online health screening questionnaire.
Once granted entry, no further tests are required while on the island and visitors are permitted to stay for 90 days (extendable for an additional 90 days). There is no mobile tracking app or daily health checks (as in some other Caribbean countries). Visitors are free to travel throughout Providenciales and the rest of the Turks and Caicos islands without restrictions during their stay.
There are some on-island rules which you should be aware of, though: Masks are still required in all public places; there is an 11pm-5am curfew on all islands; All businesses must close by 10pm on all islands; and restaurant and bars are currently operating at 30 percent capacity.
Other than that, you're free to enjoy your stay in one of the most beautiful places on earth.
Remember, many countries are still warning against all non-essential travel and some are quarantining all overseas arrivals, including their own returning citizens. Check all the relevant restrictions before you think about travelling.
