Summer travel season is kicking into high gear, and it’s as busy as expected. With millions of travelers jetting off on vacations, and Americans flying domestically and abroad in record numbers, the Official Airport Guide has ranked the busiest airports around the world right now.
The OAG’s report is produced every month, with rankings based on total airline capacity for domestic and international flights. Coming in at number one, the busiest airport in the world in July is Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport. With more than five million seats scheduled for this month, ATL is by far the most bustling of the bunch—its capacity is 12% higher than the number two busiest airport, Dubai International.
Hartsfield-Jackson isn’t the only U.S. airport with high traffic this month. Four more U.S. airports made the list: Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport ranks number four with 4,400,744 seats, Denver International Airport is number seven with 4,206,568 seats, Los Angeles International Airport is number eight with 4,081,725 seats and Chicago O'Hare International Airport wraps up the list at number 10 with 3,936,609 seats.
