United Airlines just made our lives a bit easier. The company set up a new interactive map that highlights where, exactly, we can travel to within the United States and what restrictions are in place once we get there. Take a look at the tool right here.
Fairly simple to navigate, the map uses a color coding system to note whether a state is open to visitors, open with restrictions or entirely closed. Once you click on the desired destination, you'll also be able to read through more information, including whether you'll have to quarantine upon arrival, whether you'll have to take and show proof of a negative COVID-19 test upon landing and more. Bonus points: the gadget also highlights guidelines involving things to do in the area (think restrictions involving restaurants, museums and sites, shops and tourist accommodations, for example).
"We know it’s a challenge to keep up with the ever-changing list of travel restrictions, policies and regulations so we are offering a simple, easy tool that helps customers decide where to travel next," said Linda Jojo, the executive vice president for technology and chief digital officer at United, in an official statement. "By providing the most up-to-date information on the destinations we serve, customers can compare and shop for travel with greater confidence and help them find the destinations that best fit their preferences."
Although only focusing on the United States at the moment, the effort will soon expand to include international destinations that United flights serve.
