You're in luck: Coupon code website CouponLawn crunched some numbers and came up with a map highlighting the most searched-for Valentine's Day gift in each state. Just in case you need some inspiration, feel free to browse through the results right above.
To populate the map, the company pulled Google Trends data from the past 17 February 14ths (from 2004 to 2020, to be precise) across 50 states, including Washington D.C. A note, as stated by the site: "These gifts are not the most popular gift to receive, necessarily, but the most searched for items based on Google activity."
We break down the state-by-state results right below but, before that, let us call out a few interesting findings: Although traditional gifts certainly reign supreme (all things chocolate and flowers are, by far, the most popular results), folks seem to be getting pretty creative. In Vermont, for example, the most searched-for treat is a dreamcatcher while in New Jersey the cake goes to... tandem bicycles? People in Alabama want their significant other to "name a star" after them while those in Alaska are partial to weighted blankets. In Wyoming, good old sex toys will do the trick.
