Traveling with the family can be expensive, especially when it comes to visiting the big-name tourist attractions. As long as the attractions live up to the hype, however, the experience is worth the hefty price of admission. Which attractions will leave you regretting your big spend? A new study by CouponBirds ranked the 20 worst-value attractions in the U.S., and one state dominates the list.

To determine the worst-value family attractions in the U.S., CouponBirds identified 35,000 family-friendly tourist attractions across the country, grouped them by state and category, and ranked them by the most mentions of the word “expensive” in TripAdvisor reviews.

The unfortunate winner? Magic Kingdom Park in Florida is America's worst-value family attraction, with 3,259 TripAdvisor reviews labeling it "expensive." Reviewers say the Magic Kingdom has actually lost much of its magic due to overcrowding, long waits and broken rides. It has a lower overall TripAdvisor rating than Hollywood Studios or EPCOT.

It’s not just the Magic Kingdom that disappoints in the Sunshine State. Florida boasts the top four worst-value attractions in the U.S.: Magic Kingdom Park Florida (3,259 reviews mentioning "expensive"), Universal Studios Florida (3,258), Walt Disney World Resort (2,589) and Discovery Cove (2,577). Five more attractions make the top 20, giving Florida a total of nine regrettable family attractions. California follows with five attractions that don’t live up to their price tag.
