Spring break often conjures images of sun-soaked beaches, wild parties and unforgettable road trips. But a recent study by Good Guys Injury Law highlights a grimmer reality: the potential dangers of hitting the road during spring break. The analysis focuses on car accidents and car thefts per 100,000 residents, identifying the most dangerous states for spring break travelers.

Colorado claims the top spot with a Spring Break Danger Index of 98.46. The state has 7.25 accidents per 100,000 residents and the highest car theft rate in the top 10. Following closely is Washington, which combines a relatively lower accident rate of 4.88 with the second-highest car theft rate of 633.
Oregon ranks third, recording 7.97 accidents and 539 thefts. Meanwhile, New Mexico stands out with the highest accident rate (13.66) but ranks fourth due to a slightly lower theft rate.
Missouri rounds out the top five, struggling with 9.68 accidents and 486 car thefts. Nevada, Tennessee, Hawaii, Texas and Oklahoma complete the list, all showing notable levels of accidents and thefts.
Spring break is all about sun, fun, and adventure, but this study reminds us to remain vigilant so our memorable vacation doesn't turn into a nightmare.
