Spring break isn't just for college kids. Families deserve a mid-year vacation as well, and plenty of destinations are catering to spring break getaways for all ages.

Family destinations expert Family Destinations Guide has curated a top 10 list of spring break spots for families with kids, so everyone can unwind and enjoy the most out of their vacation.

In 2023's top spot: Dominica. The Caribbean island between Martinique and Guadeloupe offers a tropical beach trip with plenty of activities for families including hiking, rafting, waterfall exploration, rainforest treks and more. U.S. travelers can also stop in Barbados and Saint Martin on their way to this more remote volcanic island.

Want to stay in the continental U.S.? The second spot on the list goes to Wisconsin Dells, a Midwestern hotspot for long weekends and vacations. Considered the waterpark capital of the world, the weather is almost irrelevant when you check into various indoor water park resorts including Klondike Kavern, Mt. Olympus, Great Wolf Lodge, Kalahari and more. If you want a more dry experience, plenty of activities in the surrounding area are available such as mini-golf, go-karting, drive-in movies, family friend restaurants and more.

The third spot goes to a more traditional spring break locale, Panama City Beach, Florida. Featuring more than a dozen beaches on the Gulf of Mexico, travelers can spot bald eagles and alligators or even dolphins on various excursions in this Florida beach town.

Additional spots in the list include Indianapolis; Mayakoba, Mexico; Grand Cayman; Ogden, Utah (for ski trips); Titusville, Florida; San Juan, Puerto Rico; and the Florida Keys.
